About Colored People

A White guy, a Black woman, a Latina, a Jew, and an Indian walk into an office building. No, really, this isn’t a joke. It’s the premise behind the newest hit web series, Colored People. It’s the story of Evan, Jada, Natalie, Jordan, and Rizwan, a group of Human Resources employees, who are blind-sided by getting unceremoniously laid off.

Sure they feel sorry for themselves for a little while, but then, by golly, they get out their entrepreneur hats and hail a taxi directly to that American Dream; the one they promise you is just over the next trash-lined, pot-hole-filled, bum-scented horizon; or something like that. Worried that you’re still missing the punch line? Well, you can’t all be helped.

Did your upscale restaurant get bad press because it turned away a millionaire in disguise, i.e. rap star? Call Colored People. Does your small band of mall cops racial profile like it’s going out of style? Call Colored People. Have the militant moms at your private school demanded that you rewrite Shakespeare because it may be sexist? Well then, it may be too late for you, because private school moms are no joke. But give Colored People a call, and see what they can do for you.

Colored People. It’s sure to tap into the racist/sexist/ageist/whatever-ist in all of us; it’s sure to make you question how the people at your job really feel about you; and it’s sure to make you wish you had more than one black friend. But, on the upside, it’s sure to make you guffaw until your neighbors think you’ve gone mad. And when you’re laughing, the whole “Colored” world laughs with you … or something like that.

Curing the world of intolerance one bigot at a time.
